Deputy Director Data Specialist Market Access

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Deputy Director Data Specialist Market Access, are to:

Data Strategy

  • Support Director Market Intelligence in developing overarching data strategy for Market Access to address key business questions and direct associated analytics and reporting;

  • Manage and execute data strategy required to support short and long-term business goals, including development business requirements;

  • Identify data gaps and changes need to meet business questions;

  • Conduct launch readiness data assessment and ongoing reassessment based on business changes;

Data Usability

  • Support Market Access teams in locating and effectively using data sources required for relevant roles and projects;

  • Have in-depth knowledge of working with multiple data sets, various scenarios and caveats in how to apply data to business questions;

  • Work with Commercial Analytics and others performing Market Access analytics to support their data needs;

  • Lead communication of data and reporting updates to Market Access community;

  • Organize / facilitate data and reporting tool training for new sources / updates;

KPI Identification

  • Support Director Market Intelligence in identifying, refining, and implementing Market Access KPIs;

  • Determine data sources and business rules for KPIs as input to implementation (handoff to Data Steward);

Data Optimization

  • Support budget development regarding data sources;

  • Minimize overlaps in data sources to ensure overall efficiency;

  • Collaborate with Data Acquisition to identify new, innovative data sources and opportunities;

Input to Data Stewardship and Governance

  • Manage escalation of incidental data usability and quality issues to Data Governance / Steward;

  • Collaborate closely with Data Stewards to ensure implementation of data aligned to Market Access strategy and requirements;

  • Provide perspective on priorities regarding data changes and projects;

  • Identify process improvements in data landscape and flag to Data team for resolution.

Who you are

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • B.A./B.S. with at least 10 years of overall experience;

  • Demonstrated understanding of marketing data, especially digital (video, email, etc.);

  • Demonstrated understanding of logistics & distribution processes for specialty products;

  • Demonstrated project management experience;

  • Demonstrated ability to consolidate disparate business requirements into clear, concise documentation;

  • Demonstrated ability to understand pros, cons, and caveats/limitations of 3rd party supplied data, as well as have an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of 3rd party players involved (i.e., HUBs, specialty pharmacies, marketing agencies, digital);

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data quality management and best practices;

  • Demonstrated knowledge of relational database structures and practices as well as newer cloud based, big data technologies;

  • Proven ability to represent key subject matter to audiences with diverse backgrounds (sales, marketing, market access, analytics etc.);

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment;

  • Proven communication skills and ability to present ideas in a clear, concise and user-friendly language;

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong analytic and problem solving skills;

  • Must demonstrate interest in data strategy, analytics, and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.B.A. or M.S.;

  • Three years’ experience working within the US Pharma industry, developing centralized data strategies for specialty products (i.e., Oncology, MS, orphan drugs).
