Purdue University Graphic Designer - West Lafayette - Purdue University Press in West Lafayette, Indiana

As a member of the marketing team, the graphic designer will create and maintain a variety of materials for the Purdue University Press, including but not limited to postcards, invitations, flyers, posters, book covers, journal covers, advertisements, and exhibit materials for both print and online use. The graphic designer will aid editorial team members on clean-up, redrawing, or creation of illustrations for book chapters or journal articles. He or she will work to maintain and enhance the Purdue University Press brand and will support social media efforts of the marketing team. Additionally, the graphic designer will work with or supervise design or marketing student interns.Required:Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Design, Visual Communication, Interface Graphics, Web Design or related field.One year of experience in graphic design, publication design, general communication, or creative and public relations.Consideration will be given to relevant internships or direct graduate assistant experience.Ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented with excellent time management, interpersonal and communication skills.Creative background with skills in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.Ability to work with multiple teams.Preferred:Knowledge of commercial printing and social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.Additional Information:Portfolio submission is required for consideration for this position.Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.A background check will be required for employment in this position.FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime)Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period.Purdue University is an EOE/AA employer.
