PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP Globalization Services broadens SAP’s global footprint by enabling businesses to run efficiently and helping customers succeed in their local markets with legal compliance, country specific needs and multi-language capabilities for SAP solutions. Availability of our products in local languages is a key success factor for selling SAP software globally. With more than 200 employees in Europe, Asia and North America, SAP Language Services (SLS) provides translation and translation-related services for all SAP solutions and non-coded assets into more than 40 languages.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

During the internship, you will have the chance to gain deep insight into a global department by supporting data management activities. You will be working with data owners to define data quality requirements and allow the organization to increase its information capital. You will support cross-functional teams by identifying gaps in data and develop innovative solutions. You will support the following topics and tasks:

  • Retrieve and process business related data, develop scripts to analyze the data, identify and visualize trends and patterns

  • Validate data quality to ensure data completeness, uniformity and plausibility

  • Analyze and remediate issues in existing databases, reports or dashboards

  • Support data quality measures, contribute to evolution of tools to improve data quality

The duration of the internship should be at least six months. At the conclusion of the internship, the intern will be presenting his/her work, the analysis methods used, and the final results of the project. After a successful completion, a working student employment might be possible.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Currently enrolled as student at a university or university of applied sciences.

  • Preferred fields of study: Computer or data science, mathematics, economics, information management, statistics or a comparable field of study with focus on data analysis and statistics, ideally with a pre-degree or comparable duration of studies with sound results.

  • Computer skills: very strong MS-Office skills, especially Excel. Access and data analysis tools. Programming languages (i.e. XML, Javascript) would be ideal. Experience with reporting tools is a plus.

  • Language skills: fluent in German and English would be ideal (written and spoken)

  • Soft skills: very good interpersonal and communication skills, high degree of own initiative

  • Proven distinct analytical thinking and very accurate working attitude

  • Work experience with large and complex data sets, proven statistical knowledge and ability to evaluate and interpret trend

  • First practical experience in business data management, statistics or controlling is a plus
