Merck Research Labs is currently recruiting for a summer intern within the Pharmacovigilance department. (1) internship will be available for the summer of 2019. Under the direction of the Pharmacovigilance (PV) Business Liaison Director, the intern will learn about the science of Pharmacovigilance through various methods such as E-learnings, orientations, shadowing experiences, and independent study (e.g., review of health authority regulations and Company policy). The intern will apply the PV knowledge by developing a series of internal training/resource materials. This will include assessing FDA and European Medicines Agency PV regulations, as well as internal policy and procedures, in order to develop resources intended for training and reference purposes. Topics of study include, but are not limited to PV requirements for use in clinical trials, medical devices, social media and patient support programs. Final resources will be in a user-friendly format such as PowerPoint schematics and process flowcharts.
This is a full- time internship position. Housing subsidy is not available as part of this program and must be funded 100% by the student.
Required: Candidates must be currentlypursuing a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a STEM field, preferably PharmaceuticalScience or Regulatory Science, OR Project Management or IT with a minor ina scientific field
Candidates must have completed atleast (3) years of undergraduate study.
RequiredExperience and Skills:
Candidates must be available to work full-timefor up to (12) consecutive weeks beginning in May or June of 2019.
Candidates must have technicalexpertise and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word,Excel, share sites and the ability to use these tools to create resourcedocuments described in job description.
Candidates must possess self-motivationand the ability to drive results independently.
Candidates must have excellentorganizational and problem solving skills.
Candidates must have excellent writtenand communication skills.
PreferredExperience and Skills:
Candidates should have an understandingof pharmaceutical business.
Candidates should have an understandingof Pharmacovigilance.
Candidates should a workingknowledge of VISIO.
