King County Washington 2018 Marine Marketing Intern in Seattle, Washington


King County Marine Divisionhas a fantastic summer opportunity for two (2) college students who have an interest in marketing. These positions will focus on marketing support and increasing Water Taxi ridership for the King County Marine Division through social media tracking and daily outreach to concierges and the public along the Seattle Waterfront.

The projected start date is June. The internship is approximately 10 weeks*. *Days/hours will vary, but expect to work 20 hours per week during the internship.

Job Duties


  • Plan daily routes to touch base with concierges and other downtown visitor information centers to distribute Water Taxi information, answer any questions, and log feedback regarding service
  • Research online feedback regarding the Water Taxi looking for opportunities to improve our service and identify opportunities to create a stronger online presence for the service.
  • Provide public outreach on the Seattle Waterfront distributing rack cards, schedules, answering questions and providing directional information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills


This internship opportunity is open to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in Marketing or closely related field who will graduate no earlier than December 2018. You will need to provide proof of enrollment.

The successful candidate for this opportunity will:

  • Possess excellent communications and presentation skills
  • Produce an excellent written product
  • Familiarity with marketing strategies and communications plans
  • Experience preparing content for social media projects beyond personal use
  • Skill in working with diverse individuals and maintaining effective relationships
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Be self-directed
