Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will assist the College Programs and Events department with event planning and execution, student outreach and onboarding, social media, and creating new training material.
Assists in the facilitation of the onboarding process; once new interns and co-ops are made offers, this position will ensure that they maintain their excitement about the opportunity, have their questions answered in a timely manner, and begin to build a bond with the company
Utilizes event planning skills to build, design, brand, and implement social and work events for the HR Organization and College Programs
Interacts with various internal departments to ensure programs/events have the proper resources applied and are publicized to appropriate audiences.
Assists with creating and implementing new training material for manager and student lunch and learns
While working closely with the recruiter and hiring manager, ensures the incoming intern or co-op has all of their questions answered prior to starting their work opportunity
Responsible for developing and maintaining relationship with internal and external customers
Assist with special projects as assigned
Being conscious of time constraints with the different projects that are assigned
Assist with external recruiting events which could include packing, shipping, attending the event, or coordinating with attendees
Depending on specific assignments, may have to occasionally perform duties on nights and weekends.
May act as informal team leader on a variety of projects or event planning committees/teams
Determine and work within the recruiting budget
Coordinate orientation for the new Co-ops and Interns
Education and Experience Requirements:
Must be available to work at least 2 semesters back to back (January-August 2018). At least 24 hours per week M-F January-May and 40 hours per week May-August. 40 hours per week preferred.
Currently seeking a bachelor or masters level degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Human Resources or a related degree. Must not graduate until August 2019 or must be planning to move on to the next level of educaiton in the Fall semster. May 2019 graduates will not be conisdered.
2.8 cumulative gpa or higher
Proven experience in event planning required
Strong customer service skills and organizational skills
Demonstrated leadership experience
Computer skills which includes being familiar with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Excellent interpersonal and written skills
Proven internet/social media/social skills
Must have reliable transportation to and from work for the duration of the internship.
