POSITION:

Marketing and Communications Intern

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a dynamic, self-starter to assist with marketing and communications efforts for both Morrison Community Living (MCL) and TouchPoint Support Services (TSS). The marketing and communications intern will report to the Director of Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generates story ideas, plans campaigns, writes, edits, and publishes content for TSS and MCL social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)

  • Supports internal communications initiatives such as soliciting, proofing, editing, and organizing content and design of company newsletters and other internal communications

  • Supports external communications initiatives by creating content for potential clients, outside shareholders, brand awareness opportunities, etc.

  • Conducts ongoing social media and content audits to evaluate effectiveness, receptivity, and recall of current communication methods and takes appropriate action as necessary based on results

  • Manages and organizes content for website and/or intranet site

  • Maintains knowledge of current trends and practices in content development, public relations, social media, and digital communications

  • Performs other various marketing and communication tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent English and grammar skills

  • Proficient in the use of Windows based office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Outlook

  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines, and a positive attitude with a team mentality

START DATE: Position open until filled, requires up to 6 month commitment

HOURS: 10-20 hours per week

COMPENSATION: $13/hr

Job Summary

As an intern, you will be working closely with Compass Group leaders developing skills and competencies to be successful in the hospitality and service industry. You will gain valuable experience in the following areas: operations, marketing, administration, guest services, problem solving, planning and implementation of innovative projects, and client relationship skills. This internship involves hands-on experiences which will provide opportunities for your personal success and development.

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university or technical program to receive credit or hands on experience
