SFGATE Intern: *Would you like the opportunity to work with world-class journalists at one of San Francisco’s most iconic media brands? *
Who says you can’t start your journalism career at one of the largest newspaper websites in America? SFGATE has a rare opportunity for a college student to learn what happens behind the scenes at the Bay Area’s most-read website.
Responsibilities will include project research, article packaging, video editing and production, posting to social media as well as executing original ideas for photo galleries. Although SFGATE is part of the same organization as the San Francisco Chronicle, this is NOT a traditional newspaper internship and will not focus on traditional newsroom reporting. This internship focuses on the day-to-day operations of web production, including content creation.
The SFGATE summer intern will work closely with SFGATE editors and producers to assist with various curation and content-related tasks in all areas, including news, sports, real estate, entertainment, travel, and more.
The ideal candidate would be a hard-working and enthusiastic high school or college student whom is organized and able to promptly meet deadlines.
What will you need to be successful?
Please submit a resume, cover letter, and at least three work samples or a link to your portfolio by December 15th. In addition, candidates must meet all eligibility requirements of the Rebele program (http://comm.stanford.edu/mm/2017/07/RebeleApplication.pdf).
