Promoting, designing and implementing a modified (historically center) storefront revitalization plan. Research and potentially write grants to assist with implementation of the project such as Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) and Historic Tax Credit possibilities. Meet with local boards and civic organizations to explain the identified project. Community service or volunteering with a community organization is highly encouraged. This would be outside of the designated scope of work and working hours. Participate in any professional staff development that may be available. Complete other responsibilities as assigned by mentoring supervisorsWhat You'll Need to Succeed:Minimum Requirements: Completion of at least six university semesters at any college or university. Students enrolled in architecture, regional planning and design, interior architecture and interior design are encourage to apply Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with individuals, groups, and through mass media and social media. Self-motivation and ability to work with minimum supervision. Experience working with individuals, groups, and co-workers to accomplish individual and/or group goals, as evidenced by previous leadership roles.Preferred Qualifications: Students from NW Kansas are preferred. Students with a strong interest in historic preservation and understanding of preservation design principals are preferred.Other Requirements: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment This position may require travel connected with official duties, including attendance at evening meetings, participation in out of county events, access to a personal vehicle, and a valid driver's license. The intern will be required to provide their own computer with software such as Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.Salary & Benefits:$20.00 per hour. 40 hours per week.
