Program: Human Resources - Training and Social Media

Internship Hours: 20 per week/Flexible on days and times

Duration: Flexible up to 6 months

Pay: Successful student can earn school credit or pay

Location: 255 Capitol Street NE, Salem, Oregon

We are seeking an innovative and energetic social media/training intern to join our HR team. This internship will be part-time (20 hours per week/flexible on days and times) in our Salem office.

Job Duties:

  • Compile an email list of contacts to expand the audience that job postings are sent to and create an advertising list customized to type of position posted.

  • Online outreach and promotion using LinkedIn, Twitter, Glassdoor and other social media platforms.

  • Interviewing new hires, prepping articles for internal communications.

  • Website and social media optimization.

  • Contribute to varied web content – such as webinars and online resources – for ODE's internal and external clients.

  • Convert ODE's New Employee Orientation content into online module.

  • Staff HR focus group meetings tied to ODE's Strategic Plan.

  • Conduct HR training Webinars.

TO QUALIFY for the position you must be:

  • Must be enrolled in high school or college at least half-time

Successful candidates will also have:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn.

  • Enjoy brainstorming fun and creative content topics.

  • Ability to research.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Working Conditions:

Typical office environment, desk/cubicle setting with moderate noise level, ability to sit for a period of time while working.
