JOB TITLE:Human Resources (HR) Intern

JOB SUMMARY


The Human Resources Intern position will touch on various areas of the HR Generalist function. The HR Intern will have the opportunity to gain experience with the execution of tactical processes as well as support strategic projects and initiatives. This position is targeted to allow the incumbent to focus their career endeavors to a future HR position. This role will include interaction with senior leadership and a final presentation to the Corporate leadership team.

The role will be responsible leading the Victor Internship program and other specific projects. This is a paid, full-time position (40 hours per week) during the summer; flexibility can be arranged if the student is currently enrolled in classes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


During the Internship, the following duties will be completed on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Some of these tasks will involve direct supervision and assistance from the Victor HR team. For some of the more frequent duties, the Intern will receive training on how to complete these tasks and will then be given an element of autonomy to complete them.

  • Internship Program Management: Lead the 2019 Internship Program. This includes event planning/coordination, manager and HR communications, leadership to other intern program participants and end-of-internship presentations with guidance from the HR managers.

  • Wellness: assistance with employee well activities, events, participate in team planning meetings.

  • Records and File Administration: support systematic filing of HR and employee paperwork.

  • Assist with various data gathering and analysis

Projects:

  • Implement CVI Employee Brand Ambassador program – this will be a global project including coordinating and communicating with the Global HR Leadership team on work already completed

  • Collaborate with Global HR leadership team on global metric development

  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Manager on development of social media strategy and training for US postings, piloted with Victor and Commercial openings

  • Completes special projects and other duties as required

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS


/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/

  • Intermediate skill in the use of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint, advanced Excel skills desired

  • Ability to work well on self-managed and team-oriented projects.

  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations.

  • Will work general office hours, some additional time may be required.

/EDUCATION/

  • The position requires the candidate to be a student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in Human Resources, Project Management, or Business Administration.

  • Would prefer candidate to be completing their degree within 2 years, junior or senior.

/EXPERIENCE/

  • Prior coursework in Human Resources is a plus.

  • Coursework in HR, Business Administration and Communications is desired.

  • Previous Internship experience is preferable.

  • Must have previous work experience, does not need to be HR related
