Job Summary:

The Comcast Technology Internship Program is an 11-week summer program designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students.

Over the course of the summer, your experience will include:

- Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your internship experience.

- Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology.

- Professional development: You will be exposed to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions are inclusive of speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities.

Department and Position Overview:

We are searching for Java developers to join Comcast who is using cutting edge cloud technology and java core frameworks in their platform to help provide their customers accurate real-time data to help influence their business decisions.

Core Responsibilities:

- Have the ability and motivation to own and drive products/features from inception to production delivery including requirements gathering, architectural design and documentation, software implementation, quality assurance, and production deployment and monitoring.

- Have all round experience in developing and delivering micro-services applications within highly scalable distributed systems.

- Responsible for design and development of application using Java frameworks such as Spring, JPA, and JUnit.

- Should implement complex algorithms in a scalable fashion with a foundation on test driven development.

- Ability to write Java based middle layer orchestration between various components on web services stack via REST or JMS.

- Work closely with product and project managers, user interaction designers, and other software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones.

Job Specification:

- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from a United States-based college or university

- Majors: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, IST, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics or a related field

- 3.0 GPA or higher

- Core competency in Java frameworks, databases, and distributed systems, including data storage and management, messaging (queues/topics), searching, scheduling, logging, serialization, and modeling technologies

- Proficiency in Core Java and Cloud environments

- Familiarity with JDBC API / Databases like MySQL, Elastic, Cassandra

- Experience in using file formats like XML, JSON

- Having experience in Network Engineering is a plus

- Demonstrates solid decision-making skills

- Proven analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work independently and in group settings

- Strong interest in the technology, telecommunications, cable and media industries

- Current and future authorization to work in the United States of America
