ESF Dream Camp Foundation is seeking committed individuals to fulfill their field requirement to mentor underserved children and learn more about nonprofit structure, operations and management.
We are seeking motivated interns who believe deeply in the organization’s mission and who display a record of achievement in effective supervision and management of youth as it pertains to this position, building positive relationships and ensuring the safety and well-being of people of all ages.

SITE LOCATIONS: Temple UniversityBache-Martin Elementary Cornerstone Christian Academy
Hours: Students work 5 hours/week during the fall semester and 10-30 hours/week during the spring semester
Mentoring includes practical, hands-on experience working with students, ages 6-16, on developing reading, writing and math skills, exploring science and social studies topics through hands-on experiences, character building, and enrichment activities.
Operations and management experience includes marketing, donor and board relations, website design and updates, training and staff development, candidate screening, budgeting, curriculum planning, coordinating special events, grant writing, blogging and social media, etc.
On-site at After-School Program:
Provide group supervision of campers with attention to: behavior and group management, health, safety, security, and personal and skill development
Promote and actively participate in all camper activities and projects
Work effectively with co-counselors and collaborate on daily responsibilities
Teach or assist with camp programs
Complete assigned paperwork
Serve as a positive role model to campers
Follow the ESF code, exhibit ESF Core Values at all times and adhere to all company policies
Other responsibilities as assigned

Previous experience working with children, examples include but are not limited to; babysitting, academic/athletic tutoring, camp counselor, youth volunteer, classroom assistant, teacher, etc.
Previous camp counselor experience (preferred)
Minimum of 18 years of age
Currently enrolled in Temple University's Human Development & Community Engagement Students major
Outstanding communication skills which include the ability to use clear, concise and grammatically correct written and oral language in all aspects of professional interaction with campers, their families, peers, leadership team and the larger community
Reports directly to and takes direction from Program Director. May also take direction from and is overall accountable to the Managing Director.
Ability to push/pull, lift and carry a minimum of 35 lbs
Ability to respond to emergency situations which may require running and climbing stairs
Good physical condition which enables candidate to execute all responsibilities associated with this position
