Caterpillar's Leadership and Technical Development Program (LTDP) offers you a broad exposure to Caterpillar, presents diverse project responsibilities, engages you in a global team, provides cross-functional job experiences and includes valuable networking opportunities with all levels of Caterpillar Leadership.This program provides the foundation for further success of Caterpillar's engineers, technologists and technical professionals.

Caterpillar's Operations Leadership Track is a 3 year development program that enables candidates to move throughout a variety of assignments in manufacturing planning and engineering, first line operations supervision, purchasing, logistics, quality, and/or facilities engineering thus gaining a broad-based understanding of manufacturing and operations.The LTDPs will move through 3 or more multi-functional assignments to provide a broader base of experience.

After approximately 12 months in each assignment, the LTDP will be given increasingly more difficult assignments and be moved to the next level of the program.

Professionals within the program must be willing to travel and relocate domestically, upon hire and during the duration of their participation within the program (minimum of 3 years).

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently attending a 4-year accredited university/college or have completed a minimum Bachelors degree in one of the following degree programs: Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering / Technology, Manufacturing Engineering / Technology, Manufacturing Systems, Mechanical Engineering / Technology, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, General Engineering, Technical Systems Management, Agricultural Systems Management, Agricultural Engineering, or Operations Management

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0 scale (no rounding)

  • Graduation date between December 2016 and August 2019

  • Must be willing to relocate and travel accordingly

Desired Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience

  • Previous co-op, internship or work experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong technical skills

  • Effective communicator

  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles

  • Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing engineering

  • Familiar with company policies and procedures
