The Networking, IoT and Mobility Lab at Hewlett Packard Labs focuses on improving enterprise solution, data-center and cloud network, intelligent edge technologies, by advancing research in seamless connectivity, localization, wireless quality of experience, mobile applications, IoT, mobile big-data analytics, 5G networks, and software defined networking.
We aim for fundamental as well as applied research that advances the state-of-the-art while driving significant business impact. Our research areas of interest include (but are not limited to):
Mobile and multi-media networking
Mobile security (for applications, platform, system, or network)
Enterprise wireless networks (mmWave, high-density networks)
Software defined networking
Network function virtualization
We are most interested in candidates with a PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics, or statistics). We also seek senior systems software engineers with an MS in a relevant field, who are interested in research developer positions. Graduate students are welcome to apply for internships.
We expect job candidates to have demonstrated the ability to frame, execute, and communicate research (e.g., via papers published in top-tier conferences or journals), as well as build substantial artefacts that validate their research and seed technology transfer. We value the ability to work independently and in teams, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong mathematical grounding, and the desire to learn new techniques to solve problems.
