Purpose & Objective of Position
The Presales & Innovation Office Communications intern is responsible for providing top-notch internal communications. The position includes a wide range of activities that require clear communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. This is a hands-on-role that often involves working as part of the team and being open for sharing and learning. For all tasks, a high degree of professionalism and communicational maturity is expected. The successful candidates must have a breadth of experience in communications and a passion for connecting people with information in new and creative ways.
Expectations & Tasks
Communications Content Creation:
Assist in the creation of email content for distribution to the Presales and Innovation Office Teams – including authoring, sourcing, editing and publishing as needed.
Gather content from the Presales team for showcasing to the field via weekly newsletter and other publications.
Support the team in video production and basic editing.
Channel your inner journalist to share great stories across North America and around the world. Stories can be written or visual – we welcome your creativity!
Monitor, organize and participate in social media initiatives to help drive a social communications strategy in Presales.
Strategic Communications Projects/Process Improvement:
Support planning and driving the execution of communications activities across multiple audiences.
Project coordination for strategic communications initiatives and tracking key milestones.
Collaborate and brainstorm on creative communications approaches and ideas for making content more engaging.
Ensure the integrated execution of communication programs (building channels, creating and sharing content, and reaching out to audiences).
Collect feedback from target audiences & review and analyze impact.
Skills & Competencies
A great relationship builder, face-to-face, but especially virtually
Excellent communication skills including:
Fluent in both oral and written English
Business writing skills aimed at employees
Knowledgeable about graphic design
Able to turn ideas and concepts into visually relevant and effective material
Understand and implement change management/communications initiatives
Excellent Word and PowerPoint skills, basic Excel skills
Ability to interact and influence others
Welcoming of feedback and suggestions
Must be able to keep confidences with private and/or confidential information
Organized, detail-oriented and can manage time effectively with top-notch prioritization skills
Videography, editing and production are definite assets
Bachelor's or Master’s degree
Previous internship experience helpful
Requires candidates to currently be enrolled in or recent graduate from a Bachelors, Masters, or MBA degree seeking program which is applicable to the position. Majors in communications, marketing, business, information systems or other relevant major
