We are currently seeking a Product Design intern to be located in our NY-Chelsea office.

Job Description:

Internship Qualifications

  • Intern must be a rising or current junior, rising or current senior, graduate student, or recent graduate (within 6 months of graduation date) at an accredited college/university.

  • Applicants must have completed their sophomore year prior to the start of the internship.

  • Must have previous internship experience and/or participated in college clubs/organizations, and/or in-depth coursework in a related field

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

  • Scripps Networks is unable to sponsor visas for interns. If you are an international student not already studying in the U.S. on an F-1 or J-1 visa, then you have to go through a university or an outside organization (internship placement agency) that will sponsor your visa.

  • Must have strong oral and written communications skills, as well as exceptional organization and planning skills

  • You must include your anticipated graduation

  • Must have an interest in the media and television industries

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Product Design team in the creation (both user experience and visual design) of digital products for the mobile and video apps across brands (including Food Network, HGTV, and Genius Kitchen)

  • Contributing to the planning, conducting, and synthesizing of user research

  • Managing your own time and workload effectively and efficiently

Preferred

  • An exceptional online portfolio of hands-on visual design work across multiple types of media/platforms (digital only – in particular, web and mobile)

  • Strong user experience design skills (user interaction flows, wireframes, etc.)

  • Strong story-telling skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong organization skills

  • Strong and confident communications skills (verbal, written, and visual)

  • Front-end coding skills

  • Proficient knowledge of design and prototyping software (Sketch, Adobe CS, Marvel, Invision, etc.)

  • Sense of humor, positive attitude, energy, and love of food required
