Job Title: Violence Prevention and Response Communications & Program Intern

The Violence Prevention and Response Communications & Program Intern will work closely with the VPRU Program Officer on four large-scale international projects focused on addressing building the capacity of national organizations addressing gender-based violence in emergencies; amplifying the voices of women and girls in prevention and response to sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse in humanitarian settings; supporting adolescents and their families in emergencies; and developing a family violence program model to prevent and respond to violence against women and children. This is an excellent opportunity to expose yourself to a wide range of technical programs led by one of the leading INGOs in the humanitarian field and acquire first-hand experience in communications and program management.
Assist with the planning and preparation for international workshops and trainings
Assist with the day-to-day administration of four international programs
Assist with the development of internal and external communications products e.g. newsletters, social media and website content, blog posts, etc.
Complete other relevant tasks as needed
Support the grants and operations team as needed
Understand operations and communications functions within an INGO.
Gain targeted NGO communication and advocacy skills.
Acquire logistics and event-planning skills.
Enhance research skills on violence prevention and response.
Learn how to manage websites and social media
Ability to work independently and productively in a fast-paced environment.
Highly organized with the ability to be flexible, multi-task and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment
Clear, fluent, and concise oral and writtencommunications skills
Event planning and social media experience is a plus
Professional attitude and ability to work with remote-based colleagues
Flexible and calm work attitude: the ability to respond effectively to changing environments yet remain productive and focused
Demonstrated computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

This internship is unpaid
Schedule can be flexible, but a commitment of at least 16-20 hours per week is expected
