Hearst Communications, Inc. Advertising Coordinator, Hearst Media Solutions in New York, New York

Hearst Media Solutions is looking for an Advertising Coordinator to support three Group Advertising Directors in our corporate sales effort. This person wants a career in integrated media (print & digital), sales and/or marketing and will attain a deep understanding of how the elements come together. The position offers the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the roles of both sales and marketing. Our ideal candidate will have a base understanding of media, be enthusiastic, organized, diplomatic, eager to learn and be a team player.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting in preparation for sales calls and internal meetings
Serving as a liaison to individual Hearst titles, Hearst digital media and all partners
Opportunities to interface with clients, magazines and digital reps, organize media and/or edit days, and will coordinate events and entertainment functions
Long term projects include managing account lists, client mailing/email lists, reading trade papers, competitive and spending reports etc.
Opportunity to work with marketing teams to develop added value programs for clients
Ability to participate in brainstorming meetings for integrated marketing programs
Will work with all departments such as media services, research, marketing, creative on RFPs
Write status reports on key accounts as needed and will take ownership of special aspects such digital media procedures, will help organize/edit keynote presentations
Attend monthly sales meetings
Handle all day to day administrative tasks such as answering phones, handle travel planning and reservations, generate expense reports, order office supplies, manage subscriptions, work on sales force as needed, etc.

Experience, knowledge, skills required:
1. Advertising media agency, print and/or digital sales assistant experience would make for the most successful candidate but will consider extremely strong internship experience in the industry
2. Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, can work collaboratively as well as independently. Someone who can take ownership and be proud of their work
3. Knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, Keynote and media math are extremely helpful
