JOB SUMMARY: The Production Manager II is responsible for supporting and coordinating all production operations in assigned area(s). This position supports individual managers/coaches to effectively and efficiently perform the functions of their jobs in order to increase production.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):• Coach and lead reports in teamwork and constant improvement initiatives• Plans department(s) operations; establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products to meet schedule requirements• Oversee and ensure an efficient and cost effective flow of product through the production system• Delivers effective/interactive communications and activities to support positive morale• Works closely with the materials, logistics and quality leaders to ensure the quality and delivery of the product.• Enforces quality standards; ensures product meets specifications• Ensures compliance with standard operational work practices; including E1 requirements to maintain accurate inventory levels• Provide the leadership to develop and maintain a safe workplaceSCOPE & IMPACT: The Production Manager II is responsible for supporting and coordinating all production operations in assigned area(s). This position supports individual coaches to effectively and efficiently perform the functions of their jobs in order to increase production. Success is based on meeting the daily production schedule, planning for future production expectations of the department(s), and continuously improving the safety, quality, and employee morale. Employee base in responsible department(s) is/are approximately 400; accounting for 30 - 50 percent of the direct labor workforce.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field with 8-10 years of experience including 3-5 years of supervisor/leadership experience or equivalent experience.• Proven leadership track record leading large organizations• Experience in a manufacturing type environment as a leader or project manager over labor intensive, large volume operations• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9000:2000, Ergonomics, Advanced Maintenance Systems, Kaizen Events, VSM and Six Sigma• Thorough understanding of Microsoft Office software; understanding of enterprise systems, Oracle E1 preferred• Willing to perform limited travel and relocate if opportunities for advancement arise• Experience utilizing OEE, project management• Ability to collaborate with other leaders effectively both internally at the plant in addition to leaders at other sites• Experience with team environment and comfortable speaking with small or large groups• Must have high energy and a proven track record for developing and executing plans• Good understanding of Materials Management and Quality Systems• Proficient in financial systems and operational metrics• Travel Required: 10%PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations or related field• Six Sigma Certification SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Approximate direct reports range from 2 – 10. Employee base in responsible department(s) is/are approximately 11 – 700; accounting for 20 – 100 percent of the direct labor workforce. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Operates in a professional office and manufacturing environment subject to inside environmental conditions and noise. Often required to sit, use repetitive hand motion, hear, listen, talk, stand, and walk.
