This position is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations and internal controls.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned):
Close the general ledger on a monthly basis for designated markets including all supporting sub-ledgers, account reconciliations, account analyses and journal entries, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with GAAP.
Review monthly expenses to ensure correct recording at store level for proper matching of cost against revenue. Research expense variances and perform appropriate adjustments.
Develop annual, quarterly and monthly store level budgets and financial forecasts.
Partner with Market Sales Managers to ensure understanding of financial goals and performance against those goals by helping to identify and manage risks and opportunities.
Prepare month end financial statements and supporting schedules as well as variance analysis for consolidation.
Perform asset accounting functions for the designated market groups including the recording of purchases, disposals and the maintenance of depreciation schedules.
Monitor the flow of inventory and perform monthly inventory reconciliations.
Perform special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.
SCOPE & IMPACT:
Support 3-5 Markets (25-30 stores) representing $85-$100 Million in sales volume.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 4 - 6 years related work experience.
0-1 years of Supervisory/Leadership experience.
Good oral and written communications skills
Ability to work cross-functionally departments and with external vendors
Strong problem-solving abilities using accounting principles and cross-functional collaboration
• Master’s degree or Certified Public Accountant
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access)
