Assignment Summary Join our Marketing team at the Harley-Davidson Museum through a 12-week internship, open to individuals interested in pursuing a career in Marketing. The Marketing department handles a variety of marketing, external public relations, and media relations activities to help promote the museum to the general public and the media in order to drive awareness and attendance. This internship is full-time summer experience that is designed to support the Museum’s Marketing strategy with day-to-day activities in the department, which will range from assisting with media relations, advertising, content development, social media and more.
Description of the Role and Key Deliverables:
Fielding requests for Museum information or assets
Helping to maintain the media contacts database
Pitching niche media and local influencers
Creating content and tactical plans for Museum marketing campaigns (i.e. writing/editing press releases and media pitches, social media posts/community management, email and web content, flyers and brochures, as well as paid advertising)
Project management of marketing programs, including the documentation and presentation of these programs to people across the organization
Measurement and analytics for marketing campaigns
Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or related field from an accredited institution
Minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Sophomore or Junior status preferred
Demonstrated leadership through work experience, campus activities and/or community involvement.
Sharp communication and writing skills. Ability to collaborate and connect with employees, dealers, leadership and most, importantly, consumers.
Eagerness to learn Marketing and PR with a motivation to make a contribution.
Demonstrate awareness of self and the impact one has on others (i.e. actions, behaviors, work style)
Recommend business ideas and options through analytical and problem-solving skills
Understand key aspects and exhibit good judgment in developing and maintaining business partnerships
Adapt to various work environments and situations
This internship will begin in May 2018.
All interns are considered employees of Yoh, a third-party agency that administers these positions, during their assignments, but will be working at a Harley-Davidson facility.
