Job Description

Job Description: This internship provides communications support for the Intelligence & Security (I&S) sector of BAE Systems, Inc.The intern will work closely with the communications team to create positive awareness of the sector s capabilities, people and community investment with internal and external audiences.

The candidate must have a demonstrated understanding of strategic communications; a strong writing ability; experience supporting events; and ability to support, maintain and leverage social/digital communication channels.

D rafting and reviewing communications materials including employee messages, press releases, collateral materials, and event invitations

Assisting in the development of new and engaging content for the sector s internal and external social/digital communications channels (OneSpace, Facebook, Linkedin and

Supporting internal and external eventsincluding site visits, town halls and public and community investment activities

LEAP Internship: The I&S LEAP Intern Program offers current college students hands-on experience and development opportunities in technology, engineering, intelligence, and business.

In addition to on-the-job training, the I&S LEAP Internship Program offers:

Competitive Pay: Earn a competitive hourly wage, working full-time (Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week) through the run of the program (typically mid-May through August).

Required Skills and Education

Strong editing and proofreading skills; working knowledge of AP Style; and a high degree of attention to detail

Experience developing engaging and effective social/digital media content

Demonstrated ability to write and produce content for multiple audiences/stakeholders

Experience supporting and/or successfully executing events

Ability to meet critical deadlines and work as part of team including demonstrating agility, flexibility and calm under pressure

Excellent oral communication, project management and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in all MS Office Programs
