*This position resides in Markham, Ontario and is a 12- month work term commencing January 2019 . It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

We’re looking for a Campus Talent Acquisition Intern to join our awesome campus team! Do you love building relationships, meeting new people and the fast-paced recruitment world? If so, this could be the role for you!

You will assist the campus team to source, attract, engage, and convert top university talent, representing IBM as the face of our opportunities on campus. You will help manage a portfolio of leads, candidates, and events, ensuring a signature candidate experience, while fulfilling demand for top university talent.

This is a tremendous opportunity to gain exposure to early professional recruitment and learn firsthand from an award-winning campus program. The role is based at IBM Canada HQ in Markham and will involve occasional travel to campuses and some evening / weekend work.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Campus Talent Acquisition team with logistics including shipping, organizing supplies, swag orders, training volunteers and other campus tour preparation.

  • Coordinate and help plan intern events including professional development days, social events and other activities.

  • Drive the execution of the recruitment process, including, but not limited to, crafting job postings, sourcing candidates, pre-screening resumes and phone screening candidates

  • Effectively communicate candidate value proposition through strategic storytelling and brand advocacy.

  • Build and leverage external relationships with student groups on campus, to help shape sourcing strategy and develop future talent pipelines.

  • Execute diversity recruiting strategies to attract a diverse workforce to IBM by hiring the best talent from diverse backgrounds, experiences and styles.

  • Support candidates throughout all stages of the application and hiring process and ensure a signature candidate experience.

  • Build strong, professional relationships with all of your clients, as well as external vendors and networking partners as/if required

  • Effectively leverage social media tools in alignment with IBMs Social Media and Branding Strategy.

  • Set high recruitment standards ensuring operational excellence and compliance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management / Business or a related field

  • Enrollment in a co-op / internship program

  • On-campus involvement in clubs or other extra-curricular activities

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple demands.

  • Strong written and oral interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively

  • Experience presenting to large groups of people.

  • Ability to learn and use new tools to collaborate and communicate more effectively.

  • Strong Microsoft office skills, especially Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Willing to travel up to 25% year-round, with increasing intensity up to 100% in the fall season.

  • Ability to travel within Canada and the United States

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

  • A valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle for campus travel.
