JOB REQUIREMENTS: The primary purpose of the Marketing Intern is to support the Retail Marketing Team's effort to develop and manage retail brands and private label business in the Clasen Quality Chocolate portfolio. The undergraduate marketing internship is an opportunity to do meaningful work while learning, leading and growing with us. The individual that is selected for this opportunity will join the retail marketing team and be expected to deliver tangible business results during the course of their internship. In addition to two clearly defined projects, the intern will be immersed in weekly learning opportunities with their CQC colleagues as well as the opportunity to understand the broader CQC business, including business-to-business marketing. The intern will be well supported with guidance and feedback from their manager, but also expected to work autonomously after ramping up, and deliver recommendations with conviction. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following: Social Media: Assist in managing social media accounts, engaging with followers, and developing communication efforts for upcoming brand initiatives. Public Relations: Develop press releases sharing brand milestones and sustainability efforts in order to build awareness with consumers and the trade. Innovation & Brand-building: Conduct a consumer and competitive assessment of an adjacent chocolate category to identify growth opportunities for CQC. Research: Support sales efforts by providing critical information that will help generate leads. Conduct marketing research and provide reports and suggestions on: (1) macro level consumer and industry trends and (2) product or company-specific research on snack, chocolate, confectionery, nutrition bar and other categories. Creative Development: Collaborate with the brand team to develop integrated marketing programs consistent with brand marketing objectives. Assist with development of creative concepts and messaging for advertising and promotion for baking season 2018. Determine role of a branded website in the marketing strategy and develop strategic and creative recommendations. Category Management/Sales Support: Assist in preparing sales pitches and attend customer presentations and visits. Assist in preparing for and attending 1-2 trade shows.
