JET Intern Product Development
The JetBlue Emerging Talent (JET) internship program provides skill & professional development through participation in the developing real-world business solutions that support the delivery of strategic business initiatives. Throughout the program, interns participate in a robust programming including professional development activities, cross-functional projects, senior leader exposure, networking, and community service. The JET Program provides interns the opportunity to immerse themselves into the aviation industry while developing specific career interest or areas of study.
The Intern Product Development will support the Product Development team with enhancing the inflight product vision, including complimentary food and beverages, the EatUp program, Onboard ancillary revenue products, and aircraft interiors. The Intern will assist with daily management of the Product Development team, including but not limited to product research, execution of marketing plans, and business partner relationship management.
The Intern Product Development is a member of the Commercial team that is dedicated to delivering the best possible product at a reasonable price to customers. The Intern is a customer-focused marketing professional who is skilled at building and maintaining relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization. The Intern excels in a matrix environment and can rapidly change priorities to meet various business demands. Essential Responsibilities
Act as day-to-day support on Product team s initiatives
Administrative duties related to Product Development, Marketing (Brand, Advertising, Partnerships),Inventory Management,and Project Management
Assist with research, data analysis, development, and launch of onboard products
Maintain master trackers of all onboard products, business partners, and competitive information
Assist with event, buzz, and social media planning and execution as necessary
Write and assist with management of creative briefs and creation of product marketing materials
Respond to ad-hoc requests from internal and/or external customers to ensure alignment of programs and initiatives
Research new product opportunities
Engage with various internal teams, including Brand, Advertising, Regional Marketing, Consumer Promotions, Airports, Provisioning, Supply Chain, Inflight, and senior leadership
Other duties as assigned
MinimumExperience and Qualifications
Recent graduate in the last two years with a Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
Ability to be flexible, multi-task, prioritize, and manage multiple activities simultaneously in a fast-paced changing environment
Must possess a strong sense of urgency and be able to effectively manage deadlines
Strong team player with the ability to take initiative and work well independently
Strong interpersonal skills, amicable and professional demeanor
Effective written, verbal and presentation skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
Available for occasional overnight travel (25%)
Able to provide official transcript and pass a 10-year background check and pre-employment drug test
Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience with project management and working cross-functionally
Knowledge of consumer marketing, operations processes and inventory management
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledgeable about the airline industry
Brand Management or travel industry experience
Crewmember Expectations:
Regular attendance and punctuality
Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
Well-groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance
When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
Promote JetBlue s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
Identify safety concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report(SAR))
