The Summer Internship position is responsible for assistance with product marketing and business acquisition integration strategies. This includes assistance with managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with R&D/engineering, to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales and marketing support resources to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager also ensures that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.
The Product Manager Intern will assist with understanding market needs to provide input on new products and improvement of existing products. The Product Manager Intern will assist with the following activities:
Providing the sales team with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. This involves printed and electronic promotional material, product training, and relevant clinical papers.
Reviewing product data to ensure that the field force is kept up to date on new developments regarding the companies or competitors’ products.
Liaison with the field force to assess the response to and suitability of current promotional material and to ensure that the printed promotional material is being used optimally.
Assist with, as needed, market research to assess customer attitudes to the current product range and new product introductions. Either conduct this research with in-house staff or manage an outside agency i.e. initial identification of suitable partner, definition of responsibilities, communication plan, divisions of responsibility, milestones, contract with company, review transcripts and reports, and recommend action plans from the research.
Advertising: Trade, consumer, consumer messaging, websites, Soc. media, content management, practice participation
Public Relations: News strategy, releases, current news updates
Promotion: Trade shows, Regional events, speaker bureau, pricing, programs
Must be enrolled, for the duration of the internship, in an accredited college/institution pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Marketing, Business or related field.
