We are looking for an engineer to take on a mix of civil engineering and environmental compliance and permitting projects in our Duluth, MN office. In this role you can expect to assist with a variety of different tasks related to civil engineering and construction, multi-media (air, water, and waste) environmental compliance, and environmental permitting. Responsibilities: Prepare permit application forms, reports/plans, complete data entry and analysis. Prepare and document emission calculations. Assess the applicability of environmental regulations. Conduct construction observations and site evaluations. Collect soil samples from worksites. Assist with drafting, data entry, and preparation of construction plans and specifications. Assist in identifying appropriate monitoring, testing, record-keeping, and reporting protocols. Communicate with project managers to provide updates on projects. Other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: Minimum of 2 years of consulting experience or environmental engineering experience. A four-year Bachelor s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university. Experience with software programs including AutoCAD, Civil3D, GIS, and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Able to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong analytical skills and good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies. Relative office or field experience. Examples: Construction, Surveying, Drafting, etc. Strong communication skills; written and verbal. Must be able to meet deadlines and put in the time needed to get the job done. Able to travel regionally, have extended overnight trips, as needed. Experience working with Local, State or Federal agencies is desired. Work exposure to one or more industrial facility categories is desired; for example, through an internship/co-op assignment, regulatory agency or prior manufacturing experience. Engineer-In-Training certification desired. Customer service experience/skills are desired.
