This internship provides candidates insight into how staff and volunteers work together to deliver high impact wish experiences for wish children and their families. Interns will gain first-hand exposure to the various stages of the wish journey and will play a key role in the planning and execution of wish-related volunteer initiatives.
Daily Assignments May Include:
Assisting with assigning volunteers to wishes
Maintaining volunteer records in Raiser’s Edge
Supporting the design and coordination of volunteer leadership programs
Drafting volunteer-specific content for newsletters and social media channels
Additional duties as assigned
Time Commitment: At least three half-days per week from late May through late August and the ability to attend an orientation on Tuesday, May 28th.
Skills and Abilities:
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast paced, collaborative environment
Desire to contribute to the mission of Make-A-Wish
Coursework in Non-Profit Management, Business, Event Management, Communication, and/or Hospitality
Must be able to commute to our downtown Chicago office (we are located in the River North neighborhood)
Minimum age for all internships is 18
Selected candidates will be asked to participate in a criminal background check.
