GEICO’s Communications Department is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist that will work to support the Communications team.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled and a well-rounded professional in the Communications field that is able to develop and deliver corporate- wide and local messaging through a variety of channels.
As the Senior Communications Specialist you will take on a lead role for the section and demonstrate creativeness, organization, and analytical skills:
Key responsibilities for the position include:
•Serve as Lead on section projects, conduct meetings, and act as a liaison between staff and director.
•Oversee creation of GEICO’s homepage
•Executive messaging for company officers, including speeches, remarks and presentations
•Organize article assignments and production schedules, insuring deadlines are met
•Track performance and provide analysis of intranet products using Google Analytics
•Generate a steady supply of articles ideas for associate communications and prepare daily GEICO homepage content
•Manage and develop engaging, creative and informative messaging through a variety of channels (electronic media, print, social media, video and photography)
•Press releases – drafting text/creating visuals/delivering information via various channels and distribution systems
•Handle other day-to-day communication activities
•Bachelor’s Degree in English or related educational experience
•Ability to write and edit compelling, accurate, quality messaging that communicates clearly, and reflects our business culture and creates a sense of being for GEICO.
•Serve as a team player who can contribute innovative ideas and work independently
•Display confidence representing and interacting with team members
• bility to create high-quality work in a timely manner
•Familiarity with Excel required and HTML/SharePoint a plus
Must be willing and able to commute or relocate. This position is located in our Chevy Chase, MD office.
