Reference #: J3M3F76K0ZMBDY6Q6RF Job Description Position Description: The intern will assist with core job functions of the National Foundations department as well as the Broomall, PA District Office. He/She will be given a minimum of one project that will be his/her responsibility to assist with the success of the National Foundations department and the Broomall, PA district office's fundraising efforts. He/she will gain a well-rounded nonprofit experience working directly with the Foundations department and the Broomall, PA District office staff. Duties will include assisting in the process of qualifying foundation grant funders and the execution of major fundraising programs such as Muscle Walk, Fill the Boot, Shamrocks, etc. The objective of this internship is to foster the development of the intern by having him/her involved in diverse organizational activities to learn both professionally and personally about MDA and the non-profit industry. Responsibilities: Work with the National Foundations department to research and qualify grant prospects for the national organization. Using his/her sharp communication skills and various resources, the intern will research, organize, and evaluate information to deem it fit for the Foundations department to move forward with approaching foundations for funding opportunities. Prepare a prospect profile sheet for each prospect that will be pursued. Provide assistance to the Foundations department on special projects as needed. Assist the Broomall, PA district office fundraising coordinators with the execution of major fundraising programs - MDA's Shamrocks Against Dystrophy, Muscle Walk, Lock-Ups, Fill the Boot, Golf Tournaments, Social Events and other community-based fundraising. Work with Broomall, PA Fundraising staff to secure donations for the fundraising event. Provide event assistance to team with preparation of materials. Perform other duties as needed.
