Navigant Research, a part of Navigant's global Energy Practice, is a market research and consulting team that provides in-depth analysis of global clean technology markets. The team's research methodology combines supply-side industry analysis, end-user primary research and demand assessment, and deep examination of technology trends to provide a comprehensive view of these industry sectors.
The Market Research Intern position supports the team of energy market research analysts by assisting in syndicated market research and custom research projects for clients. Their tasks may include performing internet research by accessing company financial filings, government reports, media reports, press releases, subscription databases, and other sources. They may also take responsibility for creating and maintaining databases, such as trackers or databases of government incentives and regulations Interns operate independently in completing tasks, so versatility, resourcefulness, and an ability to work with minimal oversight while producing high quality research are essential. Assignments vary in scope and length. The internship will run for 10 weeks at 40 hours a week.

Report Writing/Editing (MS Word)

Market analysis and forecasting
Planning/Collaboration with Analysts
Phone interviews of industry participants
Graduating with an undergraduate degree with an emphasis in business analytics, engineering, or environmental sciences preferred between December 2018 and June 2019
An interest or experience in energy-related industry including green buildings, transportation, distributed energy generation, or the distribution grid, preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Aptitude in business writing, blogging and using social media for promoting work of the Firm
Exhibited analytic skills (data modeling/statistics)
Organized and self-starter
Ability to multitask and prioritize
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment to coordinate work
Frequently travels by airplane, train or car as necessary to perform work at another location
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
Generally works in an office environment
