THE ROLE

The PR Coordinator will work hand-in-hand with Insomniac’s external PR agency, Kirvin Doak Communications (KDC) to monitor, traffic and maintain all of Insomniac’s media opportunities, and will work with internal teams to develop creative ideas that help promote and market the company’s various events, brands and business units. This full-time position reports into the VP of Content & Culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaise with KDC to oversee all press announcements and opportunities, and provide KDC with all necessary marketing collateral, including but no limited to graphics, logos, video/audio links and quotes

  • In conjunction with the VP of Culture & Content and the Head of Marketing, traffic and approve/reject all internal PR requests and coordinate press rollouts with KDC

  • When necessary, write and edit full press releases and short-form media alerts pertaining to all areas of the Insomniac business, including but not limited to festivals, branded shows, concerts, club nights, charitable giving initiatives, podcasts, and partnerships

  • With the help of the VP of Content & Culture, develop unique story ideas and content opportunities for outside media sources

  • Create event one-sheets for major festivals to be used as talking points for external media, as well as the Insomniac Founder & CEO

  • Meet regularly with the Executive Team to discuss PR strategies and opportunities, and share monthly reports from KDC

  • Oversee the Insomniac Media Lounge at various festivals and branded shows throughout the year

  • Curate and maintain press list confirmations/denials for festivals via the press portal application

  • Coordinate concert and club show press and media credential operation

  • Maintain photo selects from festivals for press sharing

  • Supervise sound monitor team and operation for branded shows, concerts, and festivals

  • Monitor, maintain, and filter press@Insomnniac.com email account

  • Maintain email announcement of press clips communication twice a week

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Entertainment PR internship or entry level experience preferred

  • 2 years of experience managing teams and event coordination

  • Energetic and focused personality with a demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines

  • Ability to manage multiple departments, utilize proper radio protocol and interact professionally with all levels of individuals in a courteous manner

  • Must be motivated with an “Everything is possible” attitude

  • Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments

  • May work in drastic temperature climates

  • Must be willing to work during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines
