The Role:

Live Nation is seeking an intern to join the Corporate Communications team at our headquarters in Beverly Hills, CA for the summer of 2017.

As a member of Live Nation’s corporate communications team, our intern will have a front row seat to happenings across the company, including corporate strategy, concert and festival promotion, sponsorship sales, ticketing and artist management. This is truly a unique opportunity to learn about the music industry, while also building external PR techniques and honing internal communications skills. To make the most of this role, we’re looking for our intern to commit 3 full days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with curation and drafting of various internal communications, including weekly global newsletters, daily news clips and more.

  • Help brainstorm and create content for Live Nation’s employee intranet, an internal information resource for our 10,000 full-time employees plus thousands of seasonal workers. This includes written articles highlighting executives and employees; photo recaps of concerts and festivals; video content from various divisional projects; and more.

  • Draft basic public relations materials including press releases, media alerts, pitch emails, and other materials as directed.

  • Create and maintain media lists, editorial calendars, media clip summaries, coverage grids and other databases.

  • Assist with updates to Live Nation Entertainment’s online press site.

  • Attend and participate in global PR meetings and brainstorming sessions.

  • Conduct research to support media pitches and key initiatives.

  • Help facilitate and staff internal events (i.e. artist show cases, executive speaking series) and external press events as needed.

  • Potential to assist with tour announcements and press initiatives for Live Nation’s US Concerts division.

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate student (rising Sophomore or above) pursuing degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Music or another relevant field.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills; demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and present it in a clear, concise and conversational manner.

  • Passion for, and deep knowledge of music.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work assignments appropriately.

  • Eagerness to meet and exceed objectives and take on more responsibility.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to participate on projects and events in any way – big or small.

  • Knowledge of PR, corporate communications and media relations through coursework and/or other internships

  • Excellent computer literacy, Internet and social media savvy with experience using PR databases (Cision, PR Newswire etc), Microsoft Office suite, Keynote, etc.

  • Proficiency with image and video editing is a major plus.
