We are looking for a technical writer to support the SAP HANA in-memory database. SAP HANA leverages recent technology advances to establish real-time analysis of business data and to improve existing business processes with a dramatic increase in performance. It is the basis for new, ground-breaking applications and continues to be a key driver for SAP’s market success.

As user assistant developer for SAP HANA security, you will be responsible for creating content to support SAP customers operate SAP HANA securely both in the cloud and on premise. You will work closely with developers, UX designers, product managers and security experts in an agile software environment on topics such as user authentication and authorization, data encryption, data anonymization, audit logging, and data protection and privacy.

  • Writing documentation for software applications: for example, online help, manuals, and tutorials

  • Providing additional, target group-specific user assistance in the form of image maps, infographics, videos, or blog posts

  • Researching and defining technical and business terminology

  • Proof-reading and editing user interface texts for usability and readability

  • Working in a cross-functional and international team with developers and product managers as well as other information developers and translators


Required skills

  • University degree in technical writing, computer science, communications, new media, or a related subject

  • Excellent written and spoken English and German

  • Ability to work on different parallel activities and in multiple teams under tight deadlines

  • You enjoy contact with people and passing on your knowledge to others

Preferred skills

  • Practical experience in creating documentation preferably in DITA

  • Experience with content creation for social media or production of videos and infographics

  • SAP product knowledge

  • Familiarity with database administration tasks and database security concepts is a plus
