Rare Disease Specialty Sales Consultant - Atlanta

Your tasks and responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Executive Specialty Sales Consultant – Atlanta, are to:

  • Build positive relationships and make an impact with indications in undeveloped market and compete in established market. Penetrate large accounts and be successful with key decision makers;

  • Have a creative thought process in developing a customer base;

  • Create a territory plan including goals and resource allocation (coverage, tactics, support) for key customers;

  • Gain account formulary acceptance, understand specialty pharmacy and product stocking where applicable;

  • Have a scientific understanding of clinical papers;

  • Team with customers as a business partner, be proactive in seeking out potential customers, maintain knowledge of long term trends and pattern to create account business plans;

  • Utilize consultative skills in assisting customers with their business needs;

  • Market/sell Bayer products

  • Submit timely expense reports;

  • Stay current on product information;

  • Follow Bayer and pharmaceutical compliance codes;

  • Consistently meet or exceed established targets;

  • Maintain sample inventories, distribute samples, comply with sample accountability procedures and policies and comply with PDMA;

  • Make complete, accurate and timely submission of all time- keeping, call activity, sample activity and expense reports and comply with promotional programs, and proper use of promotional materials and promotional expense budgets;

  • Participate in or coordinate lunch & learns, dinner programs, weekend events, as appropriate;

  • Have appropriate interactions with co-promotional partners or counterparts.

Who you are

Your success will be driven by your demonstration of our LIFE values. More specifically related to this position, Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7 years of pharma/biotech/medical sales experience

  • Orphan Disease or Specialty Cardiovascular experience required

  • Excellent consultative selling skills;

  • Must have a valid driver’s license;

  • Ability to travel as necessary or required, which may include overnight and/or weekend travel.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
