IDS International is seeking candidates for our 2019 Summer Internship Program. We have a variety of business and operations focused teams seeking enthusiastic, organized, and self-motivated undergraduate or graduate students to join us for the summer.

As an IDS intern, you will develop professional skills while working in a dynamic team-oriented environment. You will gain a working knowledge of government services and contracting in areas such as contract administration, proposal writing/editing, recruiting, human resources, finance and accounting, and business development.

Depending on your area of interest and skill set, opportunities may include:

  • Developing a basic understanding of program management ? logistics, budgeting, conflict resolution

  • Researching business opportunities for account managers

  • Recruiting ? screenings viable candidates for positions, scheduling interviews

  • Creating social media content inside our virtual program

  • Assisting with document editing and proofreading

  • Credit card monthly processing including; reconciling credit card statements, obtaining receipts and approvals

  • Develop a basic framework understanding of contracting with the federal government to include tasks such as close-out documentation, perform spot audits, conduct FAR/DFAR research, and contract-specific proposal related help


  • Undergraduate (seniors highly preferred) or graduate student

  • Dynamic personality ready to contribute where needed

  • Well organized, self-motivated, and able to manage deadlines independently

  • Excellent understanding of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Eager and quick to learn new systems and software

  • Editing, writing experience, and research experience strongly preferred

  • Superb attention to detail and proven ability to execute highly specific tasks

This paid internship is part-time (25 hours a week) and for 3 months with the possibility to continue into the fall.

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
