Southern California Tourist Sales Internship – Spring 2019

The primary focus of our department, Southern California Tourist Sales, is to secure a Disneyland Resort ticket purchase and visitation from tourists arriving in Southern California. Southern California Tourist Sales encompasses Good Neighbor Hotel program management, strategic development and sustainment of Disney Desk ticket kiosks, client partnerships with Retail ticket outlets, expanding outer market tourism reach and deployment of marketing enhancement strategies to complement sales initiatives.

This internship opportunity focuses on sales & marketing tactics that support a variety of department initiatives. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop client relationships and network with key hospitality partners in local hotels and retail locations
Support Sales Managers with client correspondence, financial reporting and seasonal project implementations
Manage field sales support and deployment for marketing tactics and incentive programs during spring and summer seasons
Analyze client websites and optimize current assets to boost client online presence and ticket sales
Coordinate client product training and Disneyland Resort in-park Familiarization tours
Continued launch of Ticket Store technology to deliver post-arrival point-of-sale for the channel
Research and evaluate tourism and hotel industry trends
Assist with all client events for key partners and new offerings at the Disneyland Resort
Learn key operating system (Daylight Database), HAMM, Galaxy and related software programs
Basic Qualifications :
What you bring to the role…
The minimum qualifications needed for this internship position are:
Hotel/Tourism or Business Management experience
Project management and research skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Suites
Proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
Motivated, positive attitude and a passion for communication and establishment of strong partnerships
Preferred Qualifications :
Current or former Disneyland Resort Cast Member
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with all levels of management
Proven ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels
Preferred experience with online marketing platforms and social media

Additional Information :
Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months of the start date of the internship for which you are applying for OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. Note: Once you have completed one consecutive year of employment on a Disney internship or program, there must be a minimum 6 month gap before the start of a new internship or program
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must provide full work availability
Must provide own transportation to/from work
Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2019 through June 2019 . Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
